What we move
Refrigerators, washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers, and chest freezers are all regular jobs. Each one has its own quirk: a fridge needs the water line disconnected and the doors taped shut, a front-load washer needs the drum locked so it does not swing during transport.
Gas ranges need the line capped by someone qualified to do it, and we coordinate that ahead of the move rather than discovering the issue on the day.
Getting them out the door
A refrigerator that came in through a wider opening before the kitchen was finished sometimes will not go back out the same way. We measure the path ahead of a job so there are no surprises at the doorway.
Appliance dollies with straps are standard equipment, not an upgrade, because a hand truck built for boxes is not rated for a three hundred pound refrigerator on a flight of stairs.
Protecting the floors and the appliance
Floor runners go down before anything with wheels or a dolly crosses hardwood or tile, and corner guards protect door frames on tight turns. The appliance itself gets wrapped in moving blankets so the finish does not scratch against the truck wall or another piece.
On a long-distance move, appliances are secured upright and strapped to the truck wall for the whole trip rather than laid down, which protects the compressor and the internal seals.
Setting up at the new place
At the new address we reconnect what can be safely reconnected on the spot, such as a washer's water lines, and set the appliance level so a fridge does not run unevenly or a washer does not walk during the spin cycle.
Gas connections are left for a licensed technician to finish, and we will tell you clearly which connections that applies to before we leave.
Dryer vent hookups vary between homes, and if the new laundry room uses a different vent type than the old one, we flag that before the truck leaves so it is not a surprise on move-in day.
Appliances bought new and delivered
Some customers ask us to bring an appliance from a store or a warehouse rather than moving one from an old address. That job runs the same way: careful loading, floor protection, and a level, secure placement in the new kitchen or laundry room.
We can remove the old appliance at the same visit if you need it hauled away, which saves a second trip and a second crew.
